About GNOFN

Greater New Orleans Funders Network (GNOFN) inspires and optimizes philanthropic investment in the greater New Orleans region to promote equity and increase justice. GNOFN coordinates philanthropy to ensure that investments in Southeast Louisiana result in impacted communities having the cultural, political, and social power to influence the decisions that affect their lives.

Value of GNOFN

GNOFN offers a catalytic space for local and national funders to develop relationships and explore innovative funding approaches. This leads to shared learning, creative strategizing, and coordinated and pooled investments that amplify understanding, trust, and solidarity for impactful systemic change in the Greater New Orleans region.

Staff of member organizations may join GNOFN programming, which provides valuable professional development, networking, and unique opportunities to interface with community leaders proximate to the issues funders aim to address.

  • Connect to create better strategies for a bigger shared impact.
  • Collaborate to amplify your impact through aligned and pooled investments.

Purpose of GNOFN Membership

GNOFN’s Membership should aid the Network in achieving its purpose through:

  • Commitment to GNOFN’s purpose and values.
  • Investment of time, talent, and treasure in Southeast Louisiana and GNOFN.
  • Promotion of GNOFN’s practices as a model for putting community at the center of philanthropy.
  • Regular participation in GNOFN programming.

Member Types & Benefits

General Member: Grantmakers (public foundations, private foundations, intermediaries) Operating Foundations and Philanthropic Support Organizations Benefits:

  • Complimentary registration to convenings and events for all institutional staff. 
  • Opportunity to collaborate with other member institution staff participants via GNOFN Action Tables.
  • Access to webinars, reports, whitepapers, and other resources.
  • Eligibility for institutional staff members to serve in leadership and governance positions.  

Sustaining Member: Grantmakers who contribute a set percentage of GNOFN’s annual budget differentiated for local and national foundations Benefits:

  • All benefits listed under general member.
  • Steering Committee seat for one institutional staff member.

Membership Fee Overview

General Member: Grantmaker contribution is tied to institution’s annual grantmaking budget and operating foundation and philanthropic support organizations pay the minimum fee.

Sustaining Member:
  • Local Sustaining: $60,000
  • National Sustaining: $120,000
The GNOFN Steering Committee may waive or reduce an institution’s member fee and consider in-kind donations towards member fee.
